Bronze signs new Chelsea deal

Lucy Bronze has signed a new deal at Chelsea, running until the summer of 2027.

The 34-year-old joined the Blues from Barcelona in 2024.

"I feel like this is the right thing for me at this time," she told the club's official website.

"Ive really enjoyed the last two years being at Chelsea and back in England, and I feel like we're in a place now where we're moving forward as a club.

"Added to the move to Stamford Bridge, its a really exciting time to be part of the team."

Hull sign Butland from Rangers

Hull have announced the signing of Jack Butland from Rangers for 3m.

The 33-year-old goalkeeper has signed a two-year contract, with the Tigers holding an option to extend by a further year.

Former England international Butland played every minute of Rangers' 2025/26  Scottish Premiership campaign.

Butland said: The challenge is obvious but an exciting one. The Premier League is the best league in the world and, personally, its a great opportunity to be on the biggest stage again. I believe its the level Im capable of playing at, and Ive done it before. 

As a club, weve got a great challenge back in the Premier League, not just to stay in the league but to really enjoy it and do as well as we can."

Rangers signed 'keeper Ivor Pandur from Hull earlier this week.

Former Arsenal midfielder Cazorla retires

Santi Cazorla has retired from professional football at the age of 41.

The midfielder - who played for Arsenal between 2012 and 2018 - closed his career with three seasons at boyhood club Real Oviedo.

In a post on Instagram, the club said: "There are stories that dont end... they live on forever. Thank you for everything."

Brentford sign young defender from Chelsea

Brentford have signed Joseph Wheeler-Henry from Chelsea.

The 18-year-old defender will joined up with the club's B Team following a successful loan spell in 2025/26.

Oliver Glasner is close to agreeing a three-year contract to become the next Nottingham Forest head coach.

Meanwhile, the terms of Vitor Pereira's departure are also in the process of being finalised, Your Site News understands. 

Brighton sign defender Svoboda

Brighton have signed defender Michael Svoboda from Venezia on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

It brings an end to his six-year spell with the club, in which he twice helped them to earn promotion to Serie A, including last term.

The 27-year-old is currently on international duty with Austria at the World Cup. They face Spain in the round of 32 later on Thursday, with kick-off at 8pm.

Fabian Hurzeler told the club's official website: Michael has enjoyed a fantastic season with Venezia, captaining them to the league title.

He has a number of attributes that we believe will see him adapt well to how we play, both in and out of possession.

He also adds competition to an area we are looking to strengthen and with a number of clubs pursuing him this summer, I am very happy that hes decided to come to Brighton.

Ward signs for Liverpool after leaving Bristol City

Liverpool have completed the signing of Mari Ward from Bristol City.

The 20-year-old defender has signed on a free transfer after her contract with the Robins expired.

Ward started in every league game bar one last season as Bristol City narrowly missed out on promotion. 

In total, the England U23 international made 86 appearances and scored six goals for the club, helping them to win the Championship in 2022/23 and making 21 WSL appearances in 2023/24. 

Fulham waiting on Arbeloa work permit

Fulham are still waiting on a work permit to be issued for Alvaro Arbeloa before they can appoint the former Real Madrid boss as head coach.

The west London club are also finalising terms for several members of his backroom staff.

They are hopeful of announcing the new coaching setup within the next week. 

The squad are due to return for pre-season training later this month.
