Rangers interested Partizan Belgrade captain

Latest from Your Site News' Sahil Jaidka:

Rangers are interested in Partizan Belgrade captain Vanja Dragojevic.

The two clubs remain apart in their valuation of the 20-year-old, who is under contract at the Partizan Stadium until 2030.

Dragojevic is rated as one of the best defensive midfielders in the Serbian league and has two caps for his national side.

Rangers boss Derek McInnes has already added Dan Neil to his midfield options after he turned down Southampton to move to Ibrox.

Meanwhile, Lawrence Shankland, Ross McCrorie, Ben Godfrey and Ivor Pandur have also joined the club.

Despite bolstering his midfield with Neil, McInnes could need further reinforcements, with the likes of Nicolas Raskin among those who could depart this summer.

Your Site News reported earlier that Real Betis and two clubs in Italy are among the Belgian internationals suitors.

McInnes also told Your Site News he is willing to be patient to get the players he wants amid links with a move for Scotland international Lewis Ferguson.

The Rangers boss worked with the Bologna midfielder at Aberdeen and told Your Site News: All I want to do is bring players who have a high level, technical level, and ability to play for Rangers.

"Obviously, there are a number of players that have been linked with us that do possess that, so I think it would be wrong for me to speak about any player individually.

"I understand it's an obvious link [with Lewis Ferguson], but we have just got to work away and see what we can do and what we can bring into the club.

"If it's clear that we can't bring people in, then we move on quickly, but I've got an idea of the players and the types I want to bring in, and hopefully we can work towards that."

Spurs-bound Tonali voluntarily gave up Newcastle wages during ban for gambling

Sandro Tonali voluntarily gave up around 7m in wages at Newcastle when he was serving his 10-month ban for gambling.

The midfielder, who is moving to Tottenham in a 100m deal, approached the Newcastle hierarchy after his suspension was confirmed to tell them he did not want to be paid his salary out of respect for the club.

Newcastle had just signed him from AC Milan for 55m, and Tonali wanted to repay the club for their faith in him after investing so much money to bring him to the Premier League.

Tonali took home less than 10 per cent of what was due to him after agreeing a deal with the club. It was around this time that he extended his contract by a further year in secret.

The Italian had only played 11 times for Newcastle before he was hit by the ban but felt strongly enough that he raised the issue himself completely of his own accord.

Tonali returned to football on August 28, 2024 and became a key member of Eddie Howes squad that went on to win the League Cup and secure Champions League football.

The 26-year-old may not leave the North East as a fans favourite but should absolutely leave with the respect of the fans for a gesture that not many knew about. Until now.

'Arsenal interested in Konsa'

Arsenal are interested in Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa, according to The Telegraph.

Konsa has two years remaining on his deal at Villa and the club reportedly value him at around 60m, which is more than Arsenal would want to part ways with to sign him.

Arsenal are also interested in Konsa's Villa and England teammate, Morgan Rogers

It remains to be seen whether the Premier League champions could bid for Rogers and Konsa, or just one of the Villa players.

Both players are currently away with England at the World Cup, with Konsa starting all four games so far and Rogers appearing three times off the bench.

Forest confirm Pereira exit

Nottingham Forest have confirmed Vitor Pereira has left his role as head coach of the club.

The club have exercised a mutual break clause in his contract, with his coaching staff all departing the City Ground with him.

A statement from Forest said: "We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Vitor and his team for their hard work and commitment throughout their time at the Club.

"They represented Forest with enormous dedication, helping to secure the clubs status in the Premier League, guiding the squad to the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League, and providing us with the foundation upon which we will continue to build."

Your Site News reported former Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner is close to agreeing a three-year contract to succeed Pereira at Forest.

Leeds make improved offer for Southampton's Charles

Latest from Your Site News' Zinny Boswell:

Leeds United have improved their offer for Shea Charles in talks with Southampton.

The Championship side turned down Leeds' initial bid of 20m for the midfielder.

The negotiations for the Northern Ireland international have been described as ongoing.

Charles effectively has two years on his contract due to a one-year option.

Nighswonger returns to Arsenal after Villa loan

Defender Jenna Nighswonger has returned to Arsenal after her loan spell at Aston Villa came to an end.

She signed for the Midlands club in January after finding game time difficult to come by following her move to the Gunners in January 2025.

Her deal did include an option to buy, although it does not appear that has been taken up as yet.

The full-back made nine WSL appearances for Villa.
