Nagelsmann's future in doubt with Klopp 'dream candidate'

Julian Nagelsmann's future as Germany head coach is in serious doubt, and Jurgen Klopp is the dream candidate to take over, according to Sky in Germany.

Germany's shock World Cup exit at the round of 32 to Paraguay has sparked internal discussions at the German FA about Nagelsmann's position.

It looks increasingly likely that Nagelsmann will lose his job as Germany boss.

Former Liverpool manager Klopp is the German FA's top candidate in case Nagelsmann is sacked.

His contract at the Red Bull group, which employs Klopp as global head of football, includes a special exit clause for the Germany job.

This allows Klopp to leave his current job at any time if the German FA come calling.

A final decision on Nagelsmann's future is expected in the coming days.

Newcastle agree fee for Hoffenheim's Toure

Latest from Your Site News' Keith Downie:

Newcastle have agreed a fee with Hoffenheim for winger Bazoumana Toure.

They are in advanced talks with the German club for the Ivory Coast international, but a deal yet to be finalised.

All going well, Toure is set to be the first of multiple new signings through the door at Newcastle, following the 170m double sale of Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali.

Tonali fee will allow Newcastle to strengthen in more than one position

Latest from Your Site News' Keith Downie:

Newcastle feel that its a strong fee for Sandro Tonali and believe they are very likely to achieve the full 100m.

The feeling is this will enable the club to strengthen with high potential in more than one position.

It is the club second biggest sale, behind the 125m Liverpool paid for Alexander Isak.
